Recently, I received this e-mail:
"Help me understand something: When you say the God That You Are, what do you mean? I am used to the concept of sacred geometry that says we are all evolved from the Creator. Since we are part of the Creator we are holy, but I do not believe we are gods in and of ourselves. Help me understand where you're coming from on this..."
Because I get asked this question a lot, I'd like to share with you the response I sent. I'd also love to hear your take on this concept...
************************************************************** Thanks for writing. Let me say first that "God" is a word that humanity created to describe a concept that is beyond our mind's ability to grasp. And so any explanation of God or the Divine is a human attempt to create words for something that transcends words. In other words, it's like trying to capture the ineffable in a jar. It can't be done, at least not in its fullness.
Having said that, there are several ways to look at the "God That You Are" concept...
1) You are created in the image of God. To me, that means that when you look in the mirror, God is what is looking back at you. Your image and God's are identical, at least in potential. (To me this also supported by Jesus' statement to his disciples: All this and more you shall do.)
2) All is one. From that place of oneness there is no separation (again, in potential) between you and God. You and God are one. In holographic terms, there is no piece that is not at the same time the whole. Which means that even if you are a piece of God, you cannot be anything but all of God at the same time.
3) You are all that is and you create your reality. You are the Creator, creating everything in your reality. From that place, you have the same infinite potential in all respects as that which we call God. Even though you are not yet in the fullness of that expression, that's still what you are.
4) We are multidimensional beings. From that perspective, you are already living the fullness of all your dimensional selves simultaneously, from the lowest to the God-highest. Yet, with the limitation of our current mind/brain, we can only perceive one dimensional life at a time. Still, the truth is that you are not really raising your vibration so much as your vibrational awareness, moving into a conscious experience and expression of your next level...and then your next...all the way to full God Realization. But there's more: You're also moving into a full multidimensional awareness, a simultaneous experience of all your dimensional selves, which is also the truth of God Expression, which sees and knows all in each moment.
Finally, I refer you to "Inspirations for Living" on my web site, and the message titled "The God That You Are."
I hope this helps, and I look forward to answering any more questions.
Blessings, Mark David **************************************************************
