Portal to Your Passion

As tuned in to my life as he is, he's always struggling in his own. As plugged into my passions as he is, his never seem to be achievable. They're always just beyond his grasp, often for lack of financing...often because he's not clear what those dreams truly are.

Jason has no end of schemes to make the money necessary to launch his projects. Yet scheme after scheme, as promising as it looks, always falls flat, leaving him in dissatisfied struggle.

Despite all that, Jason is an incredibly powerful being. I don't know too many people who match his inner strength and manifestation potential.

Yet that power and potential are not showing up in his life.

What's going on?

What's going on is that Jason is so plugged into other people's passions and enthusiasms he can't truly touch his own. He's so invested in his role as facilitator of others' dreams, he has no energetic space to facilitate his own.

All his passion is directed away from his soul's yearning, his heart's desire, his highest imperative.

Jason isn't one person. He's a composite of people I know and have known — male and female — and includes aspects of who I once was.

Here's the secret the Jasons of this world have yet to grasp: Their success is tied not to my passions but to their own.

For all Jasons to experience the success they long for, they must connect not with what they think they want but with what their hearts sing out for them to be and do.

In my eBook, The Voice of the Muse: Answering the Call to Write, I write about the difference between a good idea and the right idea:

There's a difference between a good idea and the right idea, between an idea that is anyone’s for the taking and one that is uniquely yours, one that’s right for you, right now. ...

Anyone can take a good idea and give it shape and substance. Some can do it better than you, some not as well as you.

Nobody can take the idea that sings to your soul and perform the kind of alchemy on it that you can.

The "right idea" is your passion. The "good idea" will be someone else's.

Why does it matter?

Because the right idea — your passion — is the fire that fuels your prosperity and your joy. It's the true source of your spiritual service. It's what connects you with the current of infinite flow — in all aspects of your life.

Back in November, a friend asked me this question with knifelike acuity: "What is it you truly want?"

My first answer was a list of all the things I enjoy doing: sound activations, art, these newsletters... Before I could complete the list, he interrupted me.

"No," he pushed. "What is it you truly want?"

Before I could even think up an answer, "Getting The MoonQuest out into the world" escaped from my lips.

My true passion — the right idea — had nothing to do with what I thought. It had everything to do with what I felt, with the song of my soul, with my highest yearning...and my highest learning.

Now, if I were Jason, I would not have moved forward with The MoonQuest. Instead, I would have sought out a variety of unrelated schemes to finance the project.

Perhaps that strategy worked once upon a time. If it did, it does no longer.

The energies of these times — the energies of 7-7-7 — demand that we eschew all detours and step directly into the path of our passion. Even if, in the moment, we appear to lack the resources to move forward, the call is to find a way to move forward regardless. Some way. Any way.

When you act as though, you make it so. When you fuel your passion with your energy, your passion will fuel your life. Whether or not that passion prospers you directly (at least initially), it will prosper you.

The laws of the Universe demand it.
