Dear Friends of the Light,
The MoonQuest is a journey of trust...in the unknown, in divine will, in love. It's a story, not unlike my own, of unconditional surrender to the highest path and of loving respect for all that is resistant to that path.
In many ways, it mirrors my experience of writing it, itself a practice of remaining as firmly anchored in the moment as my fear and anxiety would allow.
Yet the lesson for me, as it is for Toshar, the book's main character, is that when I abandon all attempts to exert control over my "story," my life proceeds more smoothly, more surprisingly and more synchronistically.
The key, as M'nor (the Moon), reminds Toshar and his companions, is trust. You either trust or you don't. There is no halfway in between.
It's amazing — and enlightening — for me to reread words and concepts I first expressed on the page 13 years ago (when the book's first draft birthed through me) and to discover that I'm still living, teaching and writing about the same things all this time later.
Enlightening and humbling, for it's clear that every layer of doubt, fear, resistance and mistrust we're able to peel away frees up another layer that, sooner rather than later, demands our attention.
It's taken 13 years of my own doubt, fear, resistance and mistrust to take those oft-revised and refined words and free them to fly out into the world in published book form. (See Why Wait?)
Those words fly onto the printed page wrapped in Angela Farley's magical cover (see above right) unbelievably soon. The MoonQuest's official release date is 7-7-07 (although it's likely to be available sooner). And it surprises me how many layers of doubt, fear, resistance and mistrust are still peeling away in readiness for that moment!
Helping me with that process are all of you. As I wrote in the book's acknowledgments, it's you — friends, readers, clients and writing students — whose presence and support have always recharged my passion and creativity.
To honor you for that, I'm offering a special on all advance orders placed before the books are delivered to me: personally autographed copies and free shipping anywhere in the U.S.In addition, the next five orders will also get a free CD recording of me reading three excerpts from the book.
To take advantage of this offer, go to www.themoonquest.com or, if I have your credit card information, e-mail me with your shipping address. In either case, drop me a line and let me know to whom I should sign the book(s). Credit card charges will not be run until the book goes to the printer next week.
Remember, this offer is for advance orders only and could expire with no notice, once I take delivery of the books.
Whether or not The MoonQuest calls you, remember its first lesson: Trust. Now!
Namaste,
Mark David
P.S. I'll be hitting the road again, this time with books in tow, in the next months. Please drop me a line if you're interested in seeing me in your part of the U.S. or Canada.
