Surrender, Dorothy!

Dear Friends of the Light,
If the past few months have felt like a ride in the spin cycle, the past few weeks have spun that cycle into manic hyper-drive.
Nothing seems certain. Directions shift like a crazed weather vane. Disorientation is the norm.
Everything seems out of control.
Which is the point. But I'll get back to that later.
Here's what else you may be experiencing:
- rapidly decreasing clarity
- feelings of futility and pointlessness
- feelings of having been betrayed
- the "Goldilocks Syndrome" (nothing/no place feels right)
- the "Groundhog Day Syndrome" (Didn't I just experience this!?)
- a sense of disconnection with what you thought your life was about
- a sense of disconnect with life on earth
Welcome to the spin cycle.
In a washing machine, the spin cycle flings excess water from the clothes being washed.
In the Ascension Machine, the spin cycle's gyrations continue to accelerate, flinging off all the emotions, behaviors, attachments, attitudes and controls that bind us to the lower realms.
There is nothing gentle about the spin cycle.
There is nothing soft about the spin cycle.
There is no switch you can pull to stop it, no knob that will regulate its speed.
There is only the rapidly increasing momentum that can feel unbearable, can hurl you in all directions at once, can give you emotional/spiritual whiplash.
It's enough to make you wonder if you've gone insane...or to make you wish you had.
Here's some of what's going on...
We are spinning -- spiraling, actually -- so rapidly that what was solid is now only a blur, that we outgrow our options before we are able to act on them, that the certainty of the past is no longer possible, that planning for the future is all but impossible.
Most spiritual traditions stress the importance of staying present, of living in the moment.
And many of us have managed this quite well in particular aspects of our lives.
That's no longer enough.
Just as it's no longer enough to live a spiritual life only during your daily meditation period, it's no longer enough to surrender to the moment only some of the time.
As we are flung, hurled and rocketed into higher realms of consciousness, old ways of being that no longer work are being spun out of us with ferocious velocity.
Unfortunately for the still-human aspects of our nature, these are the very ways of being that help us feel safe, grounded and in control.
What's being demanded of us through this spin cycle is nothing less than a level of trust and surrender that is deeper and more complete than anything we have ever experienced...or contemplated...or thought possible.
What's being demanded of us is that we surrender fully to each moment, whether or not we are able to grasp its purpose or implications.
What's being demanded of us is that we live from that place of higher consciousness even when what is asked of us makes no conventional sense to our human minds.
There is nothing in our life or the universe that lacks meaning.
Our minds, however, prefer to know what that meaning is -- either before we are prepared to act or after we act as some sort of proof that our guidance had purpose.
That very human "need to know" is a form of control that demonstrates a lack of trust.
It's time to let it go, to recognize that the only control is abdication of all control, that the only security is unconditional surrender to the guiding light of your highest self.
Easy to say. Not always easy to live.
I know because I too am in the spin cycle. I too am being challenged to trust in the hidden meaning of my journey and surrender to the apparent senselessness of my guidance.
I too am being forced to recognize each moment as its own life, this moment as the only truth.
The less-evolved parts of me don't like it even as they evolve grumblingly into acceptance.
They must, for there is no other option. I can't rewind the tape of my evolution. Nor can I stop it. I can only move forward -- fast forward -- toward the New Jerusalem that lies beyond my human understanding, toward the Heaven on Earth that lies beyond my human imagination, on the ascension journey that proceeds one moment at a time.
The same is true for you, if that is your choice.

Where Am I?
If you haven't been reading and/or receiving my New Earth Chronicles, this is the first time you've heard from me since Easter, when I left Santa Fe.
Tonight, I'm in Las Vegas, though by the time you read this I could well have moved on.
To my surprise and occasional annoyance, my road journey has continued. It's now 18 months since I left Sedona on what I expected to be a two- to three-month journey of healing and relocation. And except for 10 weeks in Santa Fe, I have been on the road and in motion ever since.
Yet all I can do, as I wrote in my previous piece, is journey moment by moment in a surrender as complete as I can manage in those moments, trusting in the innate meaning of my peregrinations.
