Friday, Dec. 20, 2005 — King City, California

Dear Friends of the Light,

I hadn't planned to send out another newsletter before Solstice, but as I was driving north through California's coastal mountains yesterday, experiencing what I can only describe as a slog through the molasses of heaviness, I heard, Hang in there! It's a message that cheered me instantly and unexpectedly, and one I know that many of you also need to hear at this time.

It's easy to forget, from this side of December 22, that we in the Northern Hemisphere are coming into the darkest time of the year. It's dark not only in a solar sense, but in every other possible way.

This year in particular, with the Christ Light Revelation Portal and all it has been pushing to the surface, it has felt more intense than some of us think we can bear.

It has been hard for many, I know, to see the glimmerings of light in the midst of deep personal darkness and despair. It has been difficult at times to see the value in how we are living, what we are experiencing, where we are going.

For many, in fact, it has felt like there is no motion at all, as though life is a tortured attempt to tread water when our ankles are weighted with cannonballs.

All this is normal at this time. And it is temporary.

So, hang in there. (The full message I received follows this letter.)

Let your Christ Light shine at its most bright at 12:35 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 21, the moment of the Solstice. And let that light that is yours herald the return of the Christ Light for you and for all.

Blessings of infinite light,
Mark David

P.S. If you would like to join us on Thursday's free teleconference in an experience of restoring the light, there is still space. And if you would like to help anchor that restored light in your life, join us on January 1 & 2 for the final teleconferences of the Christ Light Revelation Portal. (Access codes & instructions are always e-mailed 24-36 hours before call time.)

Hang In There!

Hang in there!

Surrender not to the despair but to the light. Surrender not to the hopelessness but to your faith. Surrender not to the helplessness but to the knowingness that it is in your moments of greatest doubt that you are being guided most lovingly.

The light is returning. Both the light in the sky and the light in your heart. It is returning.

You’ve heard the old saying It’s always darkest before the dawn? Well, dawn is nigh. Dawn is nigh and night is drawing to a close.

In these final days and moments of darkness, remember your light. It’s always there. It’s always there, even if you can’t see, can’t even sense it. It can no more vanish than can your divinity, that potential that is pushing through you right now.

The birth canal, too, is dark and narrow. Yet the infant always emerges into the light.

You too are moving through the canal of your own rebirth. It’s black, bleak and uncomfortable.

But you will emerge. You are emerging...into the light of life everlasting.

So hang in there. In the midst of the darkness, remember your light. In the midst of your despair, remember your faith. In the midst of the bleakness, remember your divinity. In the midst of the loneliness, remember that you are never alone.

As long as the Christ Light shines within you, you can never be alone. And it shines within you through eternity. Open your eyes and mind to it, acknowledge its presence, and allow it to welcome you back to the home you have never left.

Namaste.

Notes from the Freedom Trail

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
— Psalm 23:4

Saturday, December 17, 2005 — Death Valley National Park, California

All I know when I leave Barstow, California is that I'm headed north on I-15 toward Las Vegas. Because that's what minds do, mine assumes Las Vegas to be my destination.

Yet as soon as I notice Death Valley on the map (hard to believe I didn't notice it before this moment), I know that's where I'm going.

I'm already in a valley of sorts, though not within the park boundaries, and I'm starting to feel the old being stripped away. It's as though I'm an antique piece of furniture and layer after layer of old paint and varnish is being peeled off.

Whatever's going on must be emotional as I have spent the morning hours in an unplanned physical purge (an interesting experience in the midst of the desert, where the space between rest stops can seem interminable).

I know Zabriskie Point as a 1970 movie title. Yet here it is, a real place.

And what a place!...Multicolored badland formations crowned by a the kind of sky whose name can only be God (see photo).

As I climb to the top of the Point and then back down again, all I hear is the word Redemption repeating over and over again.

And then these words...

All that you have experienced in this and every lifetime is redeemed in this moment. This is the moment of death and rebirth. This is the Resurrection Portal. When you leave Death Valley, having passed through its portals not only for yourself but for all, you will not be who you were when you entered.

This is the beginning of the journey back home. Now is the beginning of the journey back home. Now. This moment. This breath.

As I write these words, the sun finally breaks through the overcast sky, its light forming a heavenly shaft of white that shines directly into my eyes.

I don't know what it means, But I know I'm coming home.

And then I remember my response to the refrain of an old gospel hymn I was listening to when I drove out of Sedona last week: "Come home, Come home, Ye who are weary come home..."

Then, as now, the words touch me in a place deeper than I can understand, and the tears begin to flow.

As I continue my drive through the park, I am awed by its beauty. Can death truly be so wondrous?

Death Valley's beauty offers a redemption of its own, reminding me how much I love this earth, what a gift this journey has been, and why I chose to come here in this lifetime to work with its energies.

Crowning the end of my park experiences as magnificently as the sky over Zabriskie Point crowned their beginning are the Joshua Trees scattered across the high-desert plains by the park exit, their limbs outstretched in joy..pointing me home.
